Renewal Course Requirements

A minimum of 24 CE (Continuing Education) credit hours must be acquired, 8 of which must be practical skills training (hands-on). Courses listed below with an * indicate a practical skills training course (0982, 1099, 1200, 1201, 1202, 1203, 1204, 1205, 1206, 1236).

On-Site Sewage Facility (OSSF) 

Renewal Course Requirement:

  • Installer I: 24 CE (Continuing Education) credit hours
  • Installer II: 24 CE (Continuing Education) credit hours
  • Designated Representative (DR): 24 CE (Continuing Education) credit hours
  • Site Evaluator (SE): 24 CE (Continuing Education) credit hours
  • Apprentice: None
  • Maintenance Provider: 24 CE (Continuing Education) credit hours
  • Maintenance Technician: None

Wastewater Collection and Wastewater Treatment Operators

Renewal Course Requirement:

  • Wastewater Collection Operator I, II & III: 30 CE (Continuing Education) credit hours
  • Wastewater Treatment Operator D, C, B, & A: 30 CE (Continuing Education) credit hours

Note:

  • Class A and B wastewater operators may not take the Basic Wastewater Operation course or any courses equivalent to Basic Wastewater for renewal credit hours.
  • Class D operators are not renewable for operators at any activated sludge-type treatment facility of any size, any trickling filter or RBC facility with a permitted average daily flow of 100,000 gallons per day or greater, or wastewater facility that disposes of treated effluent through a subsurface area drip dispersal system.

Water Operators

Renewal Course Requirement:

  • Water Operator D, C, B, & A: 30 CE (Continuing Education) credit hours

Note:

  • Class A and B water operators may not take the Basic Water Works Operation course or any courses equivalent to Basic Water for renewal credit hours.

Water Treatment Specialist (WTS)

Renew an existing License Course Requirement:

  • Water Treatment Specialist I, II & III: 12 CE (Continuing Education) credit hours
