This course covers the nature, use and properties of water. The history of water treatment methods from ancient times to today’s sophisticated systems. The effects of chemical and biological factors on the purity of water. Water collection, treatment, and distribution. Physical, chemical and biological properties of water.
At the completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Explain the nature, use, and properties of water
- Trace the history of water treatment methods from ancient times to today’s systems
- Describe the effect of chemical and biological factors on the purity of water
- Demonstrate this knowledge on a multiple choice final exam
Registration for this course entitles the student to course support from SkillWorks. After passing the final exam the registered student will also receive an official Continuing Education Course Certificate of Completion that will be accepted by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PA DEP) for operator certification renewal for the licenses listed in the table of course details above.
